Their Eyes Were Watching God 2

Reading this novel brings an empowerment to me. I began this book with no expectations in mind, and I left this book with powerful ideas in my head. I couldn't stop thinking about Tea Cake and Janie's growth. I couldn't stop imagining the graphic life that Janie goes through, and in a way, the novel humbles me and speaks to me in a language that one barely comes across.
Janie took years to find her purpose. It took her years to rise from the deepest part of the social ladder and accept herself in a way that nothing else can touch her pride and her sense of self.
